Hannah, the Great Dane lap dog.
DOG PARK is a place where I can explore and illuminate the commonplace yet extraordinary expressions and interactions at an urban dog park. Using this motley microcosm as a jumping off point, I am creating a portal through which to tell the stories of a cast of complex characters, with lives steeped in opinion, conflict and resolution. We love our dogs and our dogs love us, and we can all gather and tolerate one another for the love of our family members.
Dog Park THE BLOG will go live on my web site soon, exploring impromptu conversation at a dog park, one of America’s last milieu for diverse opinions. Human conversations will be featured as well. My comic illustrations will be hand-drawn, colored and inked using old school illustration techniques,
Some of my favorite panels of the strip you will find under my portfolio of “tiles”, which will be part of a series of ceramic portraits of the dogs and their people. These tiles were created with a classic black majolica glaze technique on handmade earthenware tiles. Stay tuned for more!
